Serving in Vero Beach

If we can acknowledge that all of our blessings originate with our Creator, down to the privilege of being born in America with innate talents, then we recognize that as we are blessed we can, and should, bless others.

At some point in life everyone finds themselves facing a crisis or difficult circumstance.  When we provide tangible help to others we aren't just 'doing good'... we're living out our values.

OLYN.  In February of 2016, FUMC began a new local outreach effort called "Operation Love Your Neighbor" Day or OLYN.  Over 300 church members spread out all over the community wearing red OLYN t-shirts, doing whatever was needed from painting at the Samaritan Center to planting a butterfly garden at Vero Beach Elementary. Some will cleaned playground equipment at the Hope for Families Center…. and others brought homemade cookies to police and fire stations all across our county.   In all there were 12 team projects: Samaritan Center, Hope for Families Center, Vero Beach Elementary, Harvest Food & Outreach Center, Habitat for Humanity, Camp Haven/Shining Light Garden, Prayer Group, Humane Society, Valentine’s Day Cards, Baked Goods to Police & Fire Stations and Food Sack Assembly (for our ongoing VBE Food Sack Program).   View our latest OLYN events at OLYN Continues...

Hunger & Homelessness.  Every year in November we assemble food boxes for the families of our community who are struggling.  We also currently partner with several wonderful organizations in town which serve and help those who are struggling.
